Torres del Paine or Fitz Roy ?
Many hikers planning their trip in Patagonia are faced with this question and of course it would be ideal if you have enough time and visit both national parks. But what if you only have time for one of these spectacular national parks?
The Torres del Paine National Park in Chile is a great choice if you looking for a comfortable 3 or 4 day hut to hut hiking tour like the W-Hike or a multi-day trek of a week like the O-Circuit.
The Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina is a fantastic option if you prefer shorter or longer day hikes like the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre Hike or the Loma del Pliegue Tumbado trek. Starting point of all hikes is the picturesque mountain village El Chaltén with its great variety of restaurants, bars, hotels and guesthouses. The Reserva del Los Huemules, 40 minutes from El Chaltén, offers superb day hikes on less frewuented trails to Cagliero Glacier or Loma del Diablo viewpoint.
