DISCOVER PATAGONIA'S BEST PLACES TO HIKE

Immerse yourself in a world of eternal ice fields granite towers and alpine lakes in the Torres del Paine National Park and resist the strong gusts of wind as you cross the John Gardner Pass. Hike to the rock towers of the mystical Cerro Torre and the legendary Monte Fitz Roy in the Los Glaciares National Park and discover the eternal ice of the Perito Moreno glacier.

TORRES DEL PAINE OR FITZ ROY ?

Many hikers planning their trip in Patagonia are faced with this question and of course it would be ideal if you have enough time and visit both national parks. But what if you only have time for one of these spectacular national parks?

.

The Torres del Paine National Park in Chile is a great choice if you looking for a comfortable 3 or 4 day hut to hut hiking tour like the W-Hike or a multi-day trek of a week like the O-Circuit.

.

The Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina is a fantastic option if you prefer shorter or longer day hikes like the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre Hike or the Loma del Pliegue Tumbado trek. Starting point of all hikes is the picturesque mountain village El Chaltén with its great variety of restaurants, bars, hotels and guesthouses. The Reserva del Los Huemules, 40 minutes from El Chaltén, offers superb day hikes on less frequented trails to Cagliero Glacier or Loma del Diablo viewpoint.

.

You have to make the decision!

A true off-the beaten-path experience is the Dientes the Navarino trek on Navarino Island where you cross beaver dams, windy mountain passes and set up camps between rock pinnacles and alpine lakes.

.

Discover on the ultimate road trip on the Carretera Austral in the Aysen region some of Patagonia’s best kept secrets, the Exploradores Valley with its countless waterfalls, the Leones Lake and Glacier or explore the Patagonian Moon valley in Jeinimeni National Reserve.

PATAGONIA

is a geographic region that covers over one million square kilometres of the southernmost portion of South America. The two rivers Rio Colorado in Argentina and Rio Bio Bio in Chile are considered the region’s northern border, and the Strait of Magellan its southern border. Patagonia is shared between Argentina and Chile.

The southern part of the Patagonian Andes is covered by a huge ice cap year-round, known as the northern and southern Patagonian icefield (Campo de Hielo Norte y Sur).

.

This impressively, about 1000 miles wide and wind-burnt region with its richly colored pampa, its steeply rugged rock mountains and icy glaciers is definitely the “El Dorado” for every adventurer, hiker and nature lover.
